How to Measure for Blinds
Each product has its own unique measuring instructions. We make it simple. We break down how to measure all of the different types of shades and blinds we offer.
Measuring for Recess and Exact Fitting
Measure outside the recess from one side to the other, starting and finishing where you want the edges of your blind.
Measure from top to bottom, starting where you want the rail to be and ending where you want the bottom of your blind to be.
Now choose your perfect blind. When asked, enter the 2 measurements you’ve written down, and select the Exact option
For the best results allow your blind to overlap the edges of the recess by at least 35mm on each side – ensuring that you have enough space to accommodate the suggested overlap.
Please note: exact measurements are not just the width of the fabric or material alone, but also include headrail fittings and controls for Roller Blinds only.
Take three measurements from the top down, along the left, middle and right of the recess. The smallest measurement will be your blind drop
Now choose your perfect blind. When asked, enter the 2 measurements you’ve written down, and select the Recess option
If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you’ll be best off with an exact fitting. To do this please follow the measuring guide for exact fitting blinds
If the bottom part of your recess is tiled (which is common in bathrooms and kitchens), measure the width from the tiled section as it is usually the narrowest
